Startup Funding in Dubai: Your Options from Pre-Seed to Series A
Dubai founders can raise from angels, angel networks, accelerators, seed funds, VCs and government-backed programmes. Each fits a different stage. Here is how to choose.
Funding by stage
| Stage | Typical source | What you need to show |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-seed | Founders, friends and family, individual angels, accelerators | A strong team, a clear problem, early prototype |
| Seed | Angel networks, founder angels, seed funds | A working product, early customers or revenue |
| Series A | Venture capital firms, some angel networks following on | Repeatable growth and a path to scale |
Angel investors and networks
Angels are usually the first outside money. See our guide to angel investors in Dubai and the investor directory.
Accelerators and innovation hubs
Programmes such as Hub71 (Abu Dhabi), in5 (Dubai), DIFC FinTech Hive and Dubai Future Accelerators offer mentoring, workspace and investor access. Some invest directly; others connect you to investors.
Seed funds and venture capital
Seed funds such as Wamda Seed and VCs such as BECO Capital and Shorooq Partners invest larger amounts, usually once you have traction.
How to choose
Match the source to your stage and how much you need. Raising too much too early costs equity; raising too little leaves you short of the milestones the next round needs.
